q What are the
system requirements to run e-try?
a You'll need Windows95,
Windows98, Windows NT v. 4, or Windows 2000, 6MB of free disk space, and at least 8MB of memory is
recommended. Your display resolution should be at least 800x600.
question list
q What browsers
can I use to view your site?
a Netscape 3.x and 4.x, and
Internet Explorer 3.x, 4.x, and 5.x, will work fine. AOL 3.x, 4.x, and
5.x work with this
site if your operating system is Windows95 or Windows98, but AOL does not work with this
site if your operating system is Windows NT or Windows 2000. Internet Explorer 3.x and AOL 3.x may
not navigate as smoothly as the others. Some other browsers may view the pages
correctly, but might not download the product session files correctly.
question list
q Why do I
need to download the e-try program and the session files?
a Trying the products on your own
PC gives you great performance and the ability to run without being connected to the
Internet.
question list
q What do I
get when I download and install e-try?
a You get the e-try
viewer (etry.exe) that runs the product simulations. If your browser is Internet
Explorer or AOL, you also get two ActiveX controls (etry.dll and etrydl.dll) that let you
use e-try with the browser. If your browser is Netscape, you get
two plug-ins (npetry.dll and npetrydl.dll) that let you use e-try with
Netscape.
question list
q Do I have to
use a browser to e-try products?
a After you've tried it once, a
product session remains on your PC until you remove it. e-try is in your
"Start" - "Programs" menu. Just start it up, and choose the Select
button on e-try's main toolbar to see what's available.
question list
q Do you tell
your client companies that I tried their product?
a Your visit here is anonymous
unless you fill out a form requesting more information.
question list
q Should I
allow Windows to open or install a file that is not signed?
a Signed files are guaranteed to
come from a known source. We sign our installation files, so that you know that they come
from us. However, early versions of Internet Explorer 3 cannot recognize the signature.
The only way to use e-try with these browsers is to allow Windows to install files that
aren't signed.
