| e-try.com has created this privacy
statement in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to privacy. The following discloses
our information gathering and dissemination practices for this Web site: e-try.com. Use of IP Addresses
We log domain names and/or IP
addresses to help diagnose problems with our server, and to administer our Web site. This
information is also used to gather broad demographic information, to identify specific
organizations that are visiting our site (but not individuals), and also to track a user's
session. We use this information to analyze the effectiveness of the Web site and to
determine which parts of our site users are visiting. We share this information with our
customers and potential customers.
Use of Cookies
A cookie is a small data
file that certain Web sites write to your hard drive when you visit them. We write a
cookie to your hard drive when you download the e-try software from our download page
using Internet Explorer. This cookie only contains the phrase
"etry=downloaded" and a date. When you run a simulation from Internet
Explorer version 3.x, we check to see if this cookie exists on your hard drive. If
it does not, we tell you that you need to download the e-try software.
A cookie can also be stored
temporarily in your computer's memory. We do this while the e-try software is
downloading, storing only the fact that the software is downloading, the download has been
interrupted, or the download is complete, so that we can give you appropriate status
messages. When you leave our Web site, this information is removed from your
computer memory. It is never stored on your hard drive.
Personal Information
Our online surveys ask visitors for
contact information, including name, email address, and mailing address. Completion of the
survey or any field in the survey is completely optional. This information is not
gathered by us without the visitor's knowledge and active permission and
participation. The visitor's contact information is used to contact the visitor only
if they request additional information on the survey. If the visitor requests
additional information about e-try.com, someone from e-try.com
will contact the visitor. If the visitor requests information about a product, e-try.com
will send a copy of the complete survey to the company that provides that product. e-try.com
is not responsible for the use of the data made by these third parties. e-try.com
retains all completed surveys in a database, which is accessible only by authorized e-try.com
employees. Users may opt-out of receiving future mailings; see the choice/opt-out
